Bar Tartine Gives Juicero the Foodie Treatment
In case you missed the news – on August 23, we joined forces with ChefsFeed to bring our fresh, raw, organic cold-press juice to the Bay Area’s hottest restaurants.
This week is especially exciting. Our friend and sustainable food leader, Chef Cortney Burns of Bar Tartine, whipped up two “Juicero specials.” The first: a lemon balm and verbena soju-infused aperitif mixed with our Greens juice. The second: a dessert with orange blossom kefir, Madeira wine sauce, and our Root Renewal+ juice. Can you say: “yum”?
Or if you’re a purist at heart, ask for complimentary samples of our cold-pressed juice.
The Juicy Dish on Chef Cortney Burns
As an added treat, we sat down with Cortney (fun fact: her favorite Juicero Pack blend is Greens) to learn more about her passion for eating seasonal food and her commitment to total transparency. No surprise – this is a philosophy that we share deeply here at Juicero.
- On her overarching food philosophy: “I would say that my food philosophy is eat what’s in season, eat what’s around you, eat consciously, and eat intentionally.”
- On eating seasonally: “Late summer/early autumn is my favorite season for produce. Everything is abundant. You have the autumn vegetables rolling in the cool weather, but you have the summer vegetables still. It’s this beautiful kind of in-between where you have to choose which season you’re going to jump into. You have to make a conscious decision on where you will put your intentions.”
- On transparency and locally-sourced food: “I know the eye color of most of my farmers…and that’s really based on the idea that – not only do we want to be really connected to the people growing our food – it gives us the peace of mind that we’re doing our best to source things in a way that fits the model and ethos we try to live by at Bar Tartine.”
