Health-conscious and plant-loving friends, save the Kind bar and mixed nut stash for another festival. This year’s Outside Lands has more than 21 hearty, delicious plant-based options on offer from Bay Area restaurants and food trucks. Yes, you could attempt another year of surviving on Spicy Pie slices (hello, 4pm sugar crash) from Friday’s opening acts to Sunday’s closeout performers Lionel Ritchie and Lana del Rey.  But why suffer? We’ve narrowed the food list down to our five nutrient-rich favorites so you can maintain your energy and focus on the music.

Here are our picks for the five best healthy dining stops at Outside Lands 2016:

The One-Hander (so you can enjoy a beverage from Wine Lands with the other)

Curry Up Now’s Hella Vegan Burrito is a carb, fiber and protein-filled fusion burrito made of chana (garbanzo beans), pico de gallo, chutney and samosas. It’s a go-to for easing the pain of too much festival-ing the previous night or to fill up before a day of sun and dancing. Pro-tip? It’s surprisingly delicious paired with a glass of Pinot!

Afternoon Pick-me-up

To give your blood sugar a boost midday, grab some shishito peppers from Glaze Teriyaki or, for something more cooling, any of the super refreshing and veg-packed bites from Sprogs. OSL treats include a plantain chip dipper with a creamy tomatillo and avocado sauce, and signature fresh, sparkling cranberry lime and pineapple lemonade sippers will give you a little burst of energy without weighing you down.

Gluten-free Goodness

Pica Pica’s yellow corn arepas are as sweet as they are savory, and as decadent as they are fresh. Grab a fork and a knife for these bad boys, as they are not small nor mess-free, and best enjoyed from your picnic blanket wrapped in a fleece while staking out your seats for the evening’s headliner.

Classic Comfort

The Mission’s Southpaw BBQ and Southern Cooking’s booth will be serving up their famous jackfruit sandwich. It’s South Carolina style barbecue done vegan, with rubbed, smoked and shredded jackfruit covered in a vinegar pepper sauce. Best paired with a beer from Beer Lands.

Turnip the Beet with Juicero (Backstage @ GastroMagic)

Guess what? On Saturday and Sunday from 11am-2pm, the Juicero team will be backstage at GastroMagic — the culinary stage hosted by Chef’s Feed. We’ll be serving up free samples of fan favorites Sweet Greens and Sweet Roots, plus one of our exciting new flavors Beta Glow. It’s the fresh, organic nutrient boost you’ll need to detox. So have a scroll through your Facebook feed and find a friend-of-a-friend who can score you backstage access. We’ll see you there! Â
